Brianne Kirkpatrick Williams

She is a licensed and certified genetic counselor, author, and consultant and founded Watershed DNA in 2016 to support people on a search for genetic identity. Brianne is part of a team of researchers studying the impact of misattributed parentage (NPE) discoveries on individuals and families, and she writes and speaks on the DNA topic for various audiences.
Brianne’s combination of skill and compassion enables her to support people along a DNA journey. Drawing from professional and personal experience, she guides people in making sense of unexpected DNA results, coaches those preparing to share DNA information with others, and assists those using DNA on a search for biological family.
An alumnus of Indiana University and Northwestern University, Brianne is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors, American Board of Genetic Counseling, American Counseling Association, and International Society of Genetic Genealogy. She lives in central Virginia with her family.
